Congratulations, you have found your way to the board application of Oulu Entrepreneurship Society! Now it is time to take the next step and get to know the possible positions.

As a board member:

  • You develop your own skills and competencies

  • You will be able to express yourself in the areas of your choice and expertise

  • You can build and expand your own networks in Oulu, in Finland, and even globally

  • You will gain valuable experience, for example, from event organization, marketing, project management, teamwork and creating new concepts

OuluES is a student-run association for the students in the Oulu-area and for those who are are interested in entrepreneurship. The association was founded in the end of 2010 by entrepreneurial students. Our main goals are to develop, network and inspire our members.

The board application is open between 9.11. - 21.11. and the new board is elected in the Autumn meeting on Thursday 25.11. The President applicants will get the contact details of the board applicants for interviews that will occur before the Autumn meeting.

You are also welcome to discuss more freely in the ending event of Human Accelerator on Tuesday 23.11. The board applicants will get more information on Monday 22.11.

 
 

Positions

We have learned from the past and the differentiation between the operative and administrative positions will be greater than before. Even though all the board members have their own specific area of responsibility, no one needs to survive alone with their tasks. All the board members will help and support each other when needed and possible. We are a team after all. It is also possible to express yourself during the year and the contents are quite flexible. You can find the rough descriptions of the potential positions below. The new President also has the power to make changes in the final structure of the board and for example combine positions together.

 

President

  • Responsible for the strategic leading of the association towards the vision of OuluES

  • Calls the meetings and facilitates them

  • Is the association’s public face and representative in different steering groups that promote entrepreneurship

  • Responsible of the official documents of the association and applying for money

  • Head of designing different event concepts and making them happen together with the team but is separate from the daily event organizing

Vice President

  • Runs the association together with the president and participates in strategic decision-making

  • Facilitates meetings when the president is occupied

  • Helps the president with partnerships, getting funding, and assisting in projects as needed

  • Works as the driver and motivator of the team and aids them forward

  • Is the representative in different steering groups together with the president

Secretary

  • Is the secretary in the meetings and makes sure that the meeting minutes look neat and tidy

  • Composes summaries of the meeting minutes as well as the to-do lists

  • In charge of the association’s general communication and texts such as email letters and sorting the emails

  • In charge of the internal communications and the connections to the members

  • Maintains the members list

Treasurer

  • In charge of the topics related to money, accounting and budgeting of the association

  • Takes part in the decision-making of the association
